What Materials Make Up a Kinetic Silk Artwork?
Silk, stainless steel, finishing, mounting hardware and documentation each affect the collector experience. A collector-led guide grounded in material, evidence and lived experience.
ArtSoie carries the image
ArtLoft specifies ArtSoie as 100% mulberry silk. The artist's image, print process, finish and edition details should be recorded for the specific piece. If the edition includes hand-finishing, the record should state what that means rather than using the phrase as decoration.
Veatro carries the display relationship
Veatro is a stainless-steel display and release system. Its dimensions, finish, hardware and edition information belong in the object file. Current public language should describe Veatro as patent pending unless documentary status changes and ArtLoft approves new wording.
Hardware is part of the installation record
Wall fixings may vary with wall construction. That does not make them unimportant. Record what was used, who installed it and any site-specific adjustment. A later installer should not have to reverse engineer the first decision.
Packaging and documents are collection materials
Boxes, protective materials, certificate, care guidance and edition record help the artwork travel and remain intelligible. They should be kept in usable condition and identified clearly. Packaging claims should name the actual materials rather than relying on broad environmental adjectives.
Verify the specific edition
Category facts establish a baseline. The invoice and certificate must identify the actual ArtSoie, Veatro and complete configuration acquired. That distinction protects the artist, the collector and anyone asked to care for the work later.
