What Do Handcraft and Numbering Mean in a Veatro Edition?
Craft and numbering matter only when they connect the physical object to a clear production and ownership record. A collector-led guide grounded in material, evidence and lived experience.
Handcraft should name the work
Cutting, forming, joining, finishing, fitting and final inspection are different tasks. The product record should state which apply to the Veatro edition rather than asking one word to carry the whole story.
Numbering identifies the system
Match the mark on Veatro with the certificate and invoice. Ask whether the number applies to Veatro alone or to a complete Kinetic Silk configuration paired with a specific ArtSoie.
Variation needs a boundary
Hand fabrication can create small differences. The maker should define which variations are expected and which require correction. Close photographs can preserve that reference.
Scarcity does not replace quality
A low edition number does not prove better fabrication or future value. Inspect alignment, finish, function and records. Collect the work and system on their merits.
Keep service history with the number
If a part is refinished or replaced, record the change without erasing the original entry. The system's identity should remain traceable through use.
