Who is responsible for the work?
Identify the artist and the roles of printer, fabricator, finisher, publisher and gallery. Ask who can verify the work later and where the permanent record is kept.
What exactly is the material?
Request fiber, print, finish, support and hardware information. Broad phrases such as archival or sustainable need a specific fact behind them.
What condition exists now?
Inspect both sides, edges and attachment areas. Keep dated photographs. Ask about earlier display, cleaning, repair or storage.
How will the work live?
Discuss direct light, humidity, airflow, touch, circulation, pests and storage. Confirm whether the textile can be released, rotated or worn and which instructions apply to the actual object.
What travels with ownership?
List the certificate, invoice, edition record, display components, packaging and care documents. Clarify insurance value, shipping responsibility and who should install or service the work.
