How Do You Care for a Hermès Scarf While It Is Displayed?
A practical care plan for collectors who want silk visible without pretending that a domestic wall is a museum case.
Light exposure accumulates
Visible change may appear slowly. Avoid direct sunlight and review artificial lighting intensity and distance. Rotation manages exposure but does not erase it.
Open display exposes the room
Dust, touch, vents, pets and housekeeping routes matter. Place the scarf where ordinary life does not repeatedly test its edges.
Inspect without overhandling
Use even light to review surface, rolled edges and contact areas. Photograph changes. Compatibility review should be repeated if the scarf or system behaves differently.
Refer problems early
