How Do You Choose Art for Executive Offices and Boardrooms?
Boardroom and executive-office art can communicate judgment more credibly than status symbols chosen only for cost. A collector-led guide grounded in material, evidence and lived experience.
Decide who lives with the work
Visitors may see the boardroom briefly, while staff see it every week. Select for repeated internal attention, not only a first-impression photograph.
Check cameras and glass
Reflections, bright windows and screens can flatten or obscure art. Test the actual conference camera and evening lighting.
Explain the choice
Artist, material and provenance give a stronger institutional story than price or prestige adjectives. Keep labels precise and brief.
Assign collection governance
Record who owns, insures, moves and approves loans or conservation. Corporate changes should not orphan the artwork's file.
