How Do You Choose Art for an Entryway?
Entryway art carries the first emotional signal of a home and must survive short, repeated encounters. A collector-led guide grounded in material, evidence and lived experience.
Watch how people arrive
Open the door fully and carry a bag through the space. Mark where shoulders, keys, umbrellas and furniture move. The safest wall may be different from the strongest empty-room composition.
Frame the first view
Step outside, enter and pause. The artwork should reveal enough at once without becoming signage for the home.
Check exposure
Exterior doors can bring hard light, moisture and turbulent air. Keep sensitive textile art away from direct weather paths.
